As a “Native American”, native because I was born here, who is of Italian descent and also a Patriotic American; I want to celebrate the man/crew who happened across this Country.
Christopher Columbus.
In two weeks we will celebrate an historic turn of events leading to the greatest Nation in history..
Back in 1492, Chris Columbus sailed the oceans blue.
Early in the morning of October 12th, 1492, a young sailor sighted land.
While they actually landed in the Bahamas, it was still the end of a very brave ten week journey into history.
1792, 300 years after the fact, the man finally got the recognition he deserved as the US began to celebrate his great accomplishments and in 1892 we made it an official holiday.
Praise Jesus for Christopher Columbus.
Because of him, we have Western Civilization and what has become the United States of America, where we’re free to practice Christianity.
We recently had a local pastor debate theology with another on the internet. The debate was supposed to be centered on this question:
“Does God know your entire future?”
The pastor claimed that God cannot know your entire future and claimed that those of us who believe He does, believe in a wicked (and therefore un-Biblical) god.
They lean on the fact that God changes His mind and therefore believe that He cannot know the future.
Of course the Bible plainly illustrates Gods knowledge of the future and that He also changes His mind.
We have God telling us the future of His Son coming, even telling us the day He would ride the donkey through the gates of the city on His journey to the Cross.
Then there is God telling us (through John) of the end times.
He plainly tells us what is going to happen.
The pastor calls these “predictive prophesy”.
I’m not sure if he is trying to make that seem less than what it is, because predicting the future and forseeing (knowing it) is the same thing, isn’t it?
It’s as if this pastor believes that God gave us Revelation as just one of an infinitesimal number of possibilities; therefore, because of the fact that God *CAN* change His mind, Revelation *cannot possibly* come out the way He said it will.
That’s batty, pastor!
God has obviously changed His mind in the past and He obviously knows the future, the entire future if you keep in mind that Revelation is about the end times.
So pastor, I believe you lost that debate, not only because you leapt into tangency from the topic to history lessons about cultures and peoples but also because you refused to admit that the Bible clearly illustrates both God changing His mind *AND* knowing the entire future.
I would say that in your efforts to wow us with your knowledge and with insulting those of us who believe in the Bible as the Word of God, you “knocked yourself out” in the first round of the debate.
I wonder if you would admit God saw that coming?

P.S.
After I posted this and came to work, this pastor did a live show from our studios and I kept this quote for y’all.
He admitted that God knows the future.
Whoops! Listen here
You can hear the whole show here.
For those of you who prayed with me about my court date this morning, THANK YOU.
I did not have to say a word.
The officer failed to appear so the case was dismissed.
Praise Jesus!
Oh yeah, not all of you know.
A couple of months ago, I was heading into work.
Within about the space of 5 seconds, a police car jumped in front of me (cut me off) as it headed for a rapidly approaching off-ramp. As the car headed onto the off-ramp, the driver changed his mind and came back onto the highway with his lights on and pulled me over.
He gave me a ticket for driving too closely; called agressive driving.
Carried a huge fine and 4 points (of 12) off my license.
For those of you out of the country, when you loose all of your points in the course of a year or so, you loose the license.
I was afraid that when asked in court if I was following too closely, I would answer truthfully.
Because I was.
The problem is, I was but not of my accord.
I was afraid that that bit of truth, without the justification or cause, would find me guilty and with the added court costs to my fine.
I prayed and prayed.
Y’all prayed and prayed.
I did not have to utter a word.
The officer failed to appear and the court dismissed the case.
Praise Jesus and thanks for the prayer, y’all.
AMEN!
An article in the September/October 2005 issue
of “Outreach”
magazine, lists The New York Times as their source for the article.
It reads,
“For some, money can buy happiness and
fulfillment. A recent poll shows a direct correlation between people’s
income and their faith. Nearly 80% of Americans surveyed who earn under $30,000
a year believe faith in God is “very important” to their lives,
whereas only half (54%) of those who make more than $150,000 have the same response.”
An associate of mine calls himself a Christian.
He is a “Preterist”.
His beliefs differ from mine, even though we both read the same Bible.
Back up. Even though we both read the same Bible, what we read is different.
I generally don’t debate the finer points of the Bible.
I like to say, “It’s not a Salvation issue, so you worship any way
you want!”
Take my Pentecostal friends; they believe you must speak in tongues to be saved.
If you don’t speak in tongues, you’re not filled with the Spirit
and therefore not saved.
Now that’s a “Salvation Issue”. The Bible speaks against that.
So I’ll debate that.
This preterist does not believe in salvation as you and I do.
They interpret the Bible and in their interpretation, they’ve come to
the conclusion that back in 70A.D., Revelation all came to pass. That “salvation”
meant being saved from the coming destruction by Rome and that we are all currently
living in “The Millennium”.
To explain the “Millennium”, they use the “1 day = 1000 years”
passage.
If 1 day is as 1000 years on earth, then 1 year to God would be 365,000 years
here on Earth. So 1000 years to God would be 365,000,000 Earth years; a virtual
Eternity. That explains why we are living in the millennium almost 2000 years
after Revelation came to pass, according to them at least.
To get past all the no death, marriage, hunger and sickness parts, they explain
that it’s all relative. See, back in the days of the Bible, women were
forced to marry, they were very ill and were dying at young ages, of hunger
and many other vectors.
So relative to that, they are free to marry whomever they want, there is plenty
of food, doctors are all over and people are very healthy, and the mortality
rate today is nothing compared to then.
Etc etc etc.
Like the mormon and catholic religions, they need other books to explain their
religious beliefs. It’s not something anybody with half a brain can read
the Bible and see.
Young kids read the Bible and become Christians. They understand it. It’s
intuitive.
But to be a religionist, you need other books to explain what it is you’re
reading. Their religions cannot be found in the Bible, they are not based in
truth.
While I love my preterist associates, I wish I
was able to help them see their error and find the truth; to find Jesus Christ.
I don’t get it.
How can anybody call evolution science and creation a belief?
Science supports Creation and a Young Earth and there is no valid science which
supports evolution.
Microevolution maybe, but not the evolution that these people claim changes
one species into another.
Microevolution is the process where you and I can grow immune to a virus.
Over a few thousand years we have watched dogs “evolve” into a bazillion
variations but they’ve not changed from dogs to cats!
Contrary to popular beliefs, cats are not descended from lions and other big
cats.
Also, science shows that you and I (humans) have more in common, genetically,
with elephants than we do with apes and monkeys.
Go figure.
Does that mean we descended from elephants and evolved into humans?
The Bible tells us (God’s Word) that He
created us in His image.
Please tell me you don’t believe that God
is a monkey?
I have faith in God.
I believe in the truth and science supports God and the (His) truth.
Not the faery tale of evolution.
That’s just for people who don’t want to admit God.
September has been the best month for my little old site.
Not counting the 64582 bots that hit the site, we’ve had 30155 hits.
From 16 countries and the average visitor spends nearly 10 minutes.
The numbers for the business end of this site are even bigger.
Slightly more than 3gigs of bandwidth a day.
I have no idea what you find so interesting about my rants but thank you for visiting and tell me what more I can add for y’all.
Praise Jesus, Y’all.
This site and its owner serves Him!
I think I hit a benchmark this weekend.
I think I’m past the 500 mark for weddings.
Neither here nor there.
Here are a couple of “must haves”
I’ve garnered from these weddings:
I’m wearing Dark Shades during the ceremony,
whether inside or out. I will probably break down like a baby looking my Bride
in the eyes and repeating my vows. Ain’t no way she’s gonna see
that, nor is she capturing that on film!
I’m saying as little as I must, “I
Do!” if need be.
I’ll get my Best Man to step in for me and read my vows if she’ll
let me.
The more I talk, the more likely I’m going to blubber.
I’ve heard three songs over the years that
I’m working on for my First Dance.
While I love the oldies and classics, I’ve found at least one newer one
as well.
Let me know which you like (I’m leaning
towards Tony Bennet):
WARNING:
These are full volume and full resolution (menaing
they are not small files).
Someday when I’m awfully low
When the world is cold
I will feel a glow
Just thinking of you
And the way you look tonight
O but you’re lovely
With your smile so warm
And your cheeks so soft
There is nothing for me to love you
Just the way you look tonight
With each word, your tenderness grows
Tearing my fear apart
And that laugh that wrinkles your nose
Touches my foolish heart
Lovely never never change
Keep that breathless change
Won’t you please arrange it
Cause I, I love you
Just the way you look tonight
Just the way you look tonight

You’re My Best Friend - Don
Williams:
You placed gold on my finger
You brought love like I’d never known
You gave life to our children
And to me a reason to go on
Chorus
You’re my bread when I’m hungry
You’re my shelter from troubled winds
You’re my anchor in life’s ocean
But most of all you’re my best friend.
When I need hope and inspiration
You’re always strong when I’m tired and weak
I could search this whole world over
You’d still be everything that I need.
Chorus

Home To Me - Josh Kelley
Isn’t it funny how the roads just pass us
by
Isn’t it crazy how we never get it right
Time is wasted on money and money wasted on lust.
Treat her like a lady and she’ll never get enough
Chorus
Cause’ its you that I’m runnin to
baby
Its you that I’m feelin for lately and
Its like a pain that never goes away
And it always starts today
Cause you are home to me, Cause you are home
to me
Cause you are home to me, Cause you are home to me
Isn’t it perfect how the memories feel
the same
Isn’t it amazing how the song remains unchanged
Time is wasted on money and money wasted on lust
Treat her like a lady and She’ll never get enough
