The Grey On The Rose… May 30th, 2006

Old Japanese Proverb:

“The heart dies a slow death.
Shedding each hope like leaves.
Until one day there are none.”

The Japanese Are So Full Of Wisdom.

In Memory Of… May 29th, 2006

What did you do to remember today?

Today was Memorial Day.
It’s a day we set aside to remember those who fight and have fought in defense of our freedoms.
We remember those who’ve given and taken life in the name of freedom.

Me, I served our Country in The United States Marine Corps.

Many of my Marine brothers saw a movie which was released last year.
They told me it was trash.
Crap.
Of course, they are all married, with families and children so they have to say that.

So what did I do today, on Memorial Day?
I figured, what the heck!
I watched the movie.

What movie was it?
Well, it was based on the journal of a Marine.
On his life in the Corps, his journey through boot camp and into the deserts of the first Gulf War (Desert Shield - Storm).
My Marine Corps brethren all professed how much fiction and how little fact this movie was.

I gotta tell ya, I can’t find any fault with it.
Granted, it was my previous life before I became a real man; a Christian.
But I tell ya, it’s on the mark.
I found myself holding my breath, heart racing and “OOOOO-RAAWW!!!”-ing out loud along with the characters.

I may not be proud of some of (hell - most of) the things I did while I was an active duty Marine but I am a better man for having become a Marine.
As a whole, I thank God; Jesus Christ for the man I am and the United States Marine Corps For the training that got me here.
I’m a gentleman; full of honour, respect and love for my Country, my God and my fellow American because of the Corps.
Christ brought all that together, added the Spirit and BLAMO! - out came a real man.

All that propaganda aside, Jarhead, while vulgar, crude, raw and embarassing, was spot on and true to form.

Y’all won’t hear me talk too much here on my site, about my past life in the Corps.

But when asked what I did today, on this Memorial Day, in memory of those who serve our Country: what I did was remember what we went through, what our boys are going through today and what the cost of freedom, here and abroad really is.

OOOOOOO-RAAAWWWW!
Sempre Fi - Do or Die!

Say it with me:

“This is my rifle.
There are many like it but this one is mine.
My rifle is my best friend, it is my life.
I must master it as I master my life.
My rifle without me is useless.
Without my rifle, I am useless.”

And on and on that goes…
I know all you Devil Dogs out there remember that as if we recited that only yesterday.

Happy Memorial Day, America.
God Bless This Country.

What’s The Role Of The Police? May 22nd, 2006

The “role” or “function” of the police is always subject to the people’s feelings.
The police mandate is vague.
Let’s look at the word itself:
To govern, control, regulate, prevent and keep in order.
To prevent and keep in order.
To prevent and keep in order?

I’ve noticed over the last few months, driving in traffic, more and more “undercover” traffic cops.
Undercover.
Normal cars with no outside adornment and windows that are dark enough that you cannot see the small LED lights hidden from view.

I see a ton of cars pulled over in traffic, by these undercover cops.

So I ask you, how are they preventing and keeping in order by hiding from the criminals?

I ask this because the average cost to you and I to keep a criminal in jail for a year has risen to more than $186 a day or $68000 a year.
I don’t make that much.
Me and a friend of mine combined don’t make that much.

Keep one prisoner out of jail and you can add one cop to the streets, right?
Keep two and you can give him a police car for a year, right?

Keep only a 1000 out of jail and you can have 500 cops and cars in the city streets.
I’m over simplifying but you get the point.
If you have 100 marked police cars patroling the streets, you have folks SEEING that there are police around and then they are less likely to commit the crime.
If you hide the cop in a parking lot next to an alley, and he sits and watches and waits for the criminal to drag a girl into an alley and rape her, then arrests him for rape, what’s the point?
If that cop had been in a marked car, the criminal would have gone home, drunk instead of raping the girl and the girl would have been spared and we’d have saved $68000.
Yeah, that rapist may have just moved to another victim but maybe there is another cop on that corner and eventually the rapist just goes home and sleeps it off!
And that $68000 does not include the costs of the court rooms, the public defenders, etc.

Do undercover cops actually protect and serve us?
Are they “policing” our streets or simply waiting around to justify their jobs and collect a paycheck?
If you have ten cop cars on the street, supporting that one cop preventing a crime, he has less of a chance to be harmed.
The criminals have less chance of succeeding so they will eventually find other endeavours.
I don’t want a criminal sitting outside my house and not seeing the cop waiting for him to break in so that he can arrest the theif.
I want that lugnut to see the marked police car rolling up and down the parking lot, looking for idiots casing out my home.

Our military earns their paycheck.
They are preventative.
Their presence, very visible, prevents would be criminals (most of the time) from violating American law.
I’m not even touching our borders because our limp wristed President does not want to “militarize” our borders; becauise he knows it would work!

So why don’t our police actually police?
It’s a government job.
The less they actually do to serve, the more they need to take from us to do it and the bigger suckers they make us.

Sell the undercover vehicles, invest in actualy police cars and go prevent crime, don’t sit on your fat donut eating butts and wait for it to happen!

And, “NO!”, I’ve not just gotten a ticket by one of these donut bellied pigs, I’m just frustrated with pansies who serve 25 years behind their shields without ever actually working a day in their lives.

Oh, I’m sure there is the exceptional one or two cops who are true to their Country and those they serve but they are few and far between.

To those few I tip my hat and thank them.

To the rest of you, I wish I could fire you; after all, I am paying your salary.

Poof, Gone! May 20th, 2006

About three weeks ago, the invaders in our Country marched down our Main Streets, demanding their actions be made legal and that they be made citizens.
They intended to hurt the economy in an effort to show how much our Country relies upon them and their labours.
They called in sick and all all of the businesses who support illegal immigration, or are reliant upon it were basically shut down.
Turns out that the only people they hurt with their march was themselves.
Legal Americans across the Country saw the invading armies and support fell while terror grew.
Three weeks later the papers are telling us that nearly 30% of all businesses that are run by or which use illegal immigrants as their primary employee, lost so much money that they went out of business.
One day off!
They shot themselves in the foot.
Three weeks later, we have the Country’s President on TV saying that they can kiss his tooshie is he’s gonna give them citizenship.
He said he’d grant it if they paid all of their back taxes and learned to speak English.
Not that any of them understood his speech.

Now - if only we can get the homosexuals to march in force down Main Street America, demanding marriage and all the other special rights they want…

The Politics Of Dancing… May 13th, 2006

I used to work in the secular workplace.
Dealing with all sorts of fidiots.

Then I finally found a job in what was supposed to be a Christian Company.
There were a ton of Christians within the company but it was worse than the secular jobs I’d had.
There was more backbiting, gossip and politics than ever.

Eventually, the non-Christians in that company booted me for my Faith.
I’m ok with that.

I hear this daily: people sick of the politics in the work place.
I’ve ideas but nothing firm about how to remedy this.

I understand that no matter where you go, you’re going to have people.
Feelings, viewpoints and Faiths are all going to be different.
So how do you deal?

I think you deal as the employer, the owner and the manager.
You have to let it ride instead of jumping every time somebody whines.

In the real world, we have to either learn to live with each other or move on.
Only the liberal yahoos sue the crap outta each other for expressing their views.
As an owner or manager, you gotta let people work it out until they find a happy medium.
If you write folks up and fire them for every little wrong, they are going to start crying wolf and expect the world to rotate around THEM!
As Christians, we’re not easily offended, if ever.

Anywho, if you’re in a job where grown men and women would rather whine then confront you; where they would rather write you up than punish you (say push ups, make you apologize or get you two in a room and settle it - scream or shout until you both shake hands and walk out) then leave the job.
I’d much rather my boss send me home and lose a days pay than be written up or lose my job.
I’d rather do laps or push ups all day for saying something stupid than lose a job.
I’d be in great shape!

I miss the days of the job you stayed in because you enjoyed it, until the day you died.
The word “Career” meant something.
Of employee/employer loyalty and commitment.
Where if you did your job well, never took a sick day and you were a good and faithfull employee, you were rewarded for it.

Employers forget their Faith, their employees and their reasons for their success these days.
They forget US.

Until I run my own business, we’re all going to have to live with the whiney office politics, regardless of employer, and just deal with it best we can.
Just know that not all of us are like that, some of us are like you, we get sick of these Godless liberal whiners!

Praise Jesus for unconditional love, patience and forgiveness.
That He gave us those qualities to share.

It Is Just A Myth? May 1st, 2006

I began this post with the intentions of writting about all of the American Hispanic organizations speaking out against illegal immigration and its evils.
I searched page after page of MSN, Google, Yahoo and the network search engines.

I’d like to report that patriotic Americans of Hispanic heritage are taking a stand against these liberal illegal aliens who are giving all Mexicanos and Hispanics a bad name in America.

I’d like to but it would seem that it’s a myth.

Like the muslum who speaks out against the islamic terrorist, there are no hispanic groups speaking out against the law breaking criminals crossing into this Country illegally and demanding to be rewarded with the citizenship that legal immigrants worked hard to acheive.

Anybody feel like proving me wrong?

Pick the topic: anti-terror islamic and/or anti-invasion hispanic/Mexicano.

Show me one group who clearly speaks against their own and I’ll give you one free blog to tell all 200,000 readers your point of view.

GO!

E-Mail me your links and comments.

I look forward to many of you proving me wrong and some intelligent responses.
I know y’all are good for it!
Well…most of you.
