The cutest button of a woman stops by to say hello to me.
Guys you’ll understand this:
She’s the kinda woman who you can pick up and hug and hold until the stars fall from the heavens.
She batted her eyes at me and the breeze from those big eyes and lashes could have knocked me over.
Absolutely adorable!
If y’all remember Olivia Newton-John about 30 years ago, that’s who this gal looked like except a bit shorter.
But that’s not what made her a stunner.
What made my heart skip a beat was that she sang!.
We were gonna do a duet until her boss party pooped on us but that didn’t stop her from coming over and singing with me.
The fastest way to a man’s heart is to love the Lord.
The biggest thrill to a man’s heart is to sing for and with him.
I’ll tell you, I’ve avoided drive by singers and women who can sing.
I’ve avoided women all together over the years.
But this gal made my toes curl and I seem to have lost my socks somewhere.
This woman is why I have to be single.
She looked up at me, batter her eyes and opened her mouth and I wanted to give her anything she asked for.
I wanted so badly to ask her name, a number, her MySpace; ANYTHING but in the back of my mind I kept telling myself that if I could resist the temptation just a little bit longer…
So I did and now I’m home wishing I’d asked but I know that I’ll dream a little dream about her and wake up and it’ll be easier to remain single once I see the sun.

She didn’t make it any easier though when she gave me this little white rose that paled next to her!

I have lived at Highlands Village (now Maples at Crestwood) for 10 1/2 years.
I love the complex and love my unit.
Omni Properties used to manage the complex but they are now owned/managed by Pacific Cap Properties Group from the West Coast.
Since they’ve come to run the property they have run it into the ground.
They have turned it into a “Low Income” property and they have evicted most of the long time residents.
They have removed all of the vegetation and paved/rocked over everything.
They have the water off for days at a time and when the water is flowing, it is usually only cold.
They repainted and roofed the buildings but hired migrant workers and got what they paid for, the lowest price.
…

That was three years ago.
When they first took over, they tore out all the green and paved the complex with watered down concrete.
They also painted the place this scarey red colour.
They used an illegal immigrant workforce and while painting, one of the kids tore down my rain gutter above my stair case.
For the last few years, when it rains or snows the water pours down onto the stairs and I’ll either get soaked coming and going or I’ll slip on the ice and break my neck trying to get into our out of my home.
I’ve asked them to repair the gutter (which is sitting in the rock garden under my window) at least twice a year since and they’ve even said they’ll get right to it.
This year it’s been horrible.
Before the first blizzard, I asked them to fix it but they’ve not yet gotten to it and during the last two blizzards and two snow storms my staircase has been one solid ice falls down my staircase.
The stalagtites hanging from the second story broken gutter are deadly.
I’ve slipped and cracked my leg, my head and my hips as I’ve fallen down and through my stairs.
I’ve tried to remove the ice myself but it gets sooo thick that even with my sledge hammer and crow bar, I’m unable to remove it all.
I’ve tried ice melt but the water flows so steadily that the ice melt and salt just washes away.
I used a whole bag ($12) in two days and the stairs simply iced over on the third day.

So I called them on Monday and they said they’d fix it now that we have a couple of warm days in a row.
Tonight I was coming home, arms full, electronics in my arms and over my shoulders.
I simply stepped down from a new step they added when they tossed in all the concrete and I flew feet up and butt down!
I’d not even made it to the staircase yet.
The water was splashing so vigorously that it had created an ice sheet not only up to the fifth step on my stair case but five feet away from the stairs so that when I turned into my walk I was caught by surprise.
I fell straight down on my tailbone and my head cracked right on the edge of the added concrete step.
My laptop crunched on the walk and the electronics I was carrying splayed out alll over.
I actually swore out loud.
The world went spinning for half a minute (probably only a few seconds but it felt like I was asleep for hours).
I’m not a small guy and all my weight falling flat on my tailbone like that could not have been good.
It took me a long time to collect myself, all my work papers that flew out into the snow, to collect all of my electronics and it took me even longer, with my arms full, to get up my ice covered stairs.
I slipped once but caught myself with my knee going up.
So now that I’m finally home, warm and dry, I can’t call my Dr.’s office because I live in low income housing and can’t afford health insurance.
I’ve been here since ‘95 and don’t want to jeopardize my housing situation by asking them to send me to a doctor or suing to afford it.
So I’m standing here, unable to sit and gotta go into work tomorrow with a broken laptop, CD-RW, tailbone and skull!
And you know what’ll happen?
Nothing.
I’ll be stuck here not only because this is my home and I love it but because I can’t afford to move.
I’m loyal to this place even though they’ve not been loyal to me and treat me like tripe.
They’ll not repair the gutter nor will they de-ice the stairs.
They’ll probably not even respond to my call.
I’ve been complaining about the black mold on my ever deeper sagging leaking roof/ceiling for years and they’ve not repaired it.
They don’t care that I cough myself into black outs at night as I fall asleep.

Would I recommend this place to friends, foes or the illegal immigrants who’ve taken over the place?
Nope.
I’d even recommend that the devil move someplace else.

So the State of Colorado fell into enemy hands in 2006.
One of the first things the leader of the enemy wants to do is to kill more Americans.
Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter wants to take American tax dollars and support abortion.
The people already voted this down but that doesn’t matter anymore as the enemy of the people is now in control and he wants to kill the future of those people and he wants the people to support it.
Bill Ritter is going to take our money and feed it into planned parenthood in order to support murdering unborn Americans.
By being lazy and not going to the midterm elections, Americans have allowed this to happen; allowed the enemy to control the land.

All over the world, islam has moslums killing moslums in mass quantities.
I was about to say that you don’t see Christains and catholics killing each other over their beliefs but I almost forgot Ireland!
That aside, the Christian Faith does not teach us to kill others who believe differently.

So being the Super Power that this nation is, we are charged with the responsibility to help those, regardless of their religions, who are in need.
That one charge, that one responsiblity is probably the most widely contended in the world today.
Europe, the UK and the UN feel that the US should not be involved in the World’s business yet when the next conflict arises, these are the first countries and organizations to demand that the US do something.

Take Iraq for example:
Iran and Iraq, full of more islamic on islamic killing, the world and the UN demand that the US help one side or the other (whichever the case in various decades) to win.
Tides turn and we’re asked to help the other side then the world demands we get out.
We back off for a decade here and there and a leader arises who, as happens in islam, starts killing moslums because they believe differently than he does.
We’re asked to step in after he invades another country and so the story goes.
Now we’re asked to leave again as the moslum on moslum killing is increasing yet again.

The usual suspects are whining and complaining about our involvement:
The UK, Europe and the UN but these were the same countries who demanded we act in the first place.
And we have an obligation to help - these are humans after all and we’re a country of abundance and plenty.

Now the current fad is the region of Darfur in Western Sudan.
Yet another islamic tribal region and country in which one islamic sect is killing the other in volumes that are being called genocide.
That label was appplied to Yugoslavia (Serbia/Croatia) and Iraq and after we obliged and got involved, the after affect was that we were criticized for being involved.
While we’re not in this for the popularity contest, some would think that we are and world opinion matters to them.

So we’ve been asked to get involved in the Darfur conflict.
In the last 3 or 4 years, we’ve been the largest contributer (by far at nearly 4 billion USD) to relief and security efforts.
You have a country full of oil, run by one sect of islam oppressing the other, in which aid of any kind is usually confiscated by the ruling sect and used not for the relief of the oppressed but the oppressing armies.

A google search brings up pages upon pages of relief organizations and sites for the Darfur region.

The loudest party to always complain about both our lack of involvement then our involvement are the liberals in our very own nation.
They first demanded that we get involved in Ireland and the Middle East and after our inclusion, they whined and moaned and demanded our retreat.

You’ll notice a silent body in the whole of the islamic killing and islamic affairs:
The UN.
This is a whole other post and topic but this is an organization whose populace is islamic.
And the leaders are mainly those who are doing all the killing.
We don’t see them stepping in to help their islamic brothers who are being killed in droves by other moslums.
They usually ask us to step in then complain that we’ve an agenda and that we should not have our western and satanic hands in their business!

So what to do in the Darfur Region of Western Sudan?
As a world Super Power, as Christians and as humans we are obligated to help.
How CAN we help is up to debate and how we should help is even more hotly contested.
But we’re already basically the only country in the world who is helping and until the genocide stops, we’re going to be there until the world and the American liberal changes their minds again and whines and moans for us to disengage.

So Colorado got hit with a second Blizzard (1st in March from the 2005/2006 season before) of 2006 on the Thursday before Christmas.
A week later, just before the New Year, Colorado gets hit with a third Blizzard (two in a row) and many locations receive more than seven feet in two weeks, two storms and not only do the stores go dry and gas stations run empty but cattle on the plains starve to death by the tens of thousands.
To add insult to injury, Colorado was hit again last week with another storm on Friday that dropped yet another foot in many locations.

Suddenly we get a reprieve and for three days in a row we have temps in the 50’s and even the 60’s which gets us some serious melt.
But as you can expect, yet another storm has seized the State for the fourth Friday in a row.
We’re only getting half a foot for the most part but this time around it’s not the snow that’s got us by the throat.
We’ve already got several feet of perma frost covering the State that we’ll hang onto until May but just to be sure, we’re sitting at O degrees here in Denver.
For the last two days it’s been a few degrees during the day and below Zero in many places at night.
The weather folks are telling us that by Wednesday we’ll get above 19 degrees but that there is yet another storm due in before the weekend.
It’s colder than a witches you know what inside of a brass bra.
Why on Earth would witches wear brass bras anyway?

I guess when I decided to stay in Colorado rather than go home to the Pacific beaches, I did it with adventure and weather in mind.
Well, I’m sure as heck getting a heaping helping of both this winter.
